A March 2025 r/aucklandeats thread from a parent staying while a child had surgery is the clearest public account of day-to-day use. A reply said the house is often confirmed closer to the stay. For Grafton Mews, the same comment said businesses sometimes come in and cook dinner, that grocery trips run about once a week, and that groceries can be delivered if you do not want to go out on the first night. Another comment suggested Alma across the road and K Road over Grafton Bridge if you do eat out. That is parent-to-parent advice, not a house rule.
